Tom Wandell Clears Waivers, Assigned to Texas Stars

Forward Played Four AHL Games with Stars on Conditioning Loan

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that center Tom Wandell has cleared waivers and has been assigned to Texas by Dallas.

Wandell, 26, was originally assigned to Texas on a conditioning loan on February 18th and he has four assists and two penalty minutes in four AHL games for the Stars. The Sodertalje, Sweden, native began the season playing for Severstal Cherepovets of the KHL and rejoined Dallas at the end of the NHL lockout, appearing in seven NHL games for the Stars this season. Wandell was drafted by the Stars in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2005 NHL entry draft and has appeared in 218 career NHL games with Dallas, posting 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists) and 42 penalty minutes. In 57 career AHL games, he has registered 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) and 18 penalty minutes.

The Dallas Stars faceoff against the St. Louis Blues this Sunday, March 3 at American Airlines Center at 2:00 pm CT (TV: FOX Sports Southwest; Radio: 1310 The Ticket).
