This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use is applicable to TexasStars.com and all its affiliated websites (collectively referred to as the “Site”).

By using this Site, you signify your assent to this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of these terms will mean you accept the terms. 

Gathering and Use of Information

Texas Stars, Limited Partnership and its internet partners (collectively referred to as “Texas Stars” or “Stars”) do not collect personally identifiable information about individuals except when such individuals specifically provide such information on a voluntary basis. For example, such personally identifiable information may be gathered from a contest or sweepstakes registration, the registration process for subscription sites or services in connection with content submissions, community postings (e.g., chat and message boards), suggestions, voting/polling activities and transactional areas. The Texas Stars’ policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our users.

Personally identifiable information on individual users will not be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user at the time of collection. At such points of collection, the user will have the opportunity to indicate whether he or she would like to “opt out” or receiving promotional and/or marketing information about other products, services and offerings from the Texas Stars and/or any third parties. Further, notwithstanding any opt out of promotional information by the user, the Texas Stars reserve the right to contact a subscriber regarding account status, changes to the subscriber agreement and other matters relevant to the underlying service and/or the information collected.

The Texas Stars may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the Texas Stars’ rights or property, other Texas Stars users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. The Texas Stars may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. 

Use of Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

The Texas Stars reserve the right to perform, or use a third-party provider to perform, statistical analyses of user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of the various areas of the Site and to inform advertisers of such information as well as the number of users that have been exposed to or clicked on their advertising banners. The Texas Stars will provide only aggregated data from these analyses to third parties. Also, users should be aware that the Texas Stars may sometimes permit third parties to offer subscription and/or registration-based services through the Site. The Texas Stars are not responsible for any actions or policies of such third parties and users should check the applicable privacy policy of such party when providing personally identifiable information. 

In order to improve the site and provide more convenient, relevant experiences to its guests, the Texas Stars may use “cookies” and similar devices to track your activities on the site. Cookies are small text files a web site can use to recognize repeat users, facilitate the user’s ongoing access to and use of the site and allow a site to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements and targeted advertising. Cookies are not programs that come onto a user’s system and damage files. Generally, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the user that has no meaning outside the assigning site. 

Additionally, users should be aware that the Texas Stars may use third-party providers to provide display and video advertising. Certain advertising campaigns may use cookies to track a user’s behavior after leaving the Texas Stars webpage. Users should be aware that the Texas Stars cannot or does not control the use of cookies or the resulting information by advertisers or third parties hosting data for the Texas Stars. If a user does not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simply procedure in most browsers that allows the user to deny or accept the cookie feature; however users should note that cookies may be necessary to provide the user with certain features (e.g., customized delivery of information) available on the Site. The Texas Stars do not control such browser blocking tools and do not guarantee their effectiveness. 

Social Media

The Texas Stars may provide social networking integrations (such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) through the Site, which enable you to log in to certain of our services, comment on content available on our website, and to share things you find on our website with your social network. These and other third parties may collect information about your use of our website, including through the use of cookies, web beacons, and other technologies and this information may be collected over different websites and online services, including, for example, to deliver adds that are more relevant to you, both on and off our website. Social networking services may be able to collect information about you, even if you do not click on or interact with their content on our services or have an account with a social networking service. The Texas Stars are not responsible for any actions or policies of such social networking sites. 

Unsubscribing or Opting-Out

Upon request, the Texas Stars will allow users to “opt out” of further promotional contacts at any time. Additionally, upon request, the Texas Stars will use reasonable efforts to allow users to update/correct personal information previously submitted which the user states is erroneous to the extent such activities will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon a user’s request, the Texas Stars will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete the user and his or her personal information from its database; however, it may be impossible to delete a user’s entry without some residual information because of backups and records of deletions. 

Children’s Information

It is the Texas Stars’ intention to fully comply with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and the guidelines promulgated by the Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau. 

The Texas Stars site is not directed at nor intended for use by minors. The Texas Stars do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.  Children under 13 years of age are expressly prohibited from submitting or posting any personal information on the Site. If a parent or legal guardian believes that the Texas Stars have in its database the personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 13, please contact us immediately using the contact information below. The Texas Stars will use best efforts to promptly remove such information from its records. 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

By using this Site, you consent to the terms of this Policy. The Texas Stars reserve the right to change this policy at any time, but will notify users of the existence of a new privacy policy if legally required to do so. The Texas Stars will post the effective date for this and any revised Policy. The Texas Stars recommend you consult this page periodically and specifically before you provide any additional personally identifiable information so that you are aware of the latest Policy. Except as otherwise provided, your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of any revised Policy.
