Texas Stars to Participate in Preseason Weekend in Tucson
Aug 20, 2026CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, will travel to Tucson for the inaugural Southwest Showdown, the team announced today in conjunction with the Tucson Roadrunners, Colorado Eagles and Henderson Silver Knights.
The event will take place at Tucson Arena on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27, with each team playing two preseason games. The Stars will face Colorado in their preseason opener on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. CT, before matching up against Tucson on Sunday at 9:00 p.m. CT.
Here is the full Southwest Showdown schedule:
Saturday, Sept. 26
- Colorado Eagles vs. Texas Stars – 5:00 p.m. CT
- Henderson Silver Knights vs. Tucson Roadrunners – 9:00 p.m. CT
Sunday, Sept. 27
- Henderson Silver Knights vs. Colorado Eagles – 5:00 p.m. CT
- Texas Stars vs. Tucson Roadrunners – 9:00 p.m. CT
Broadcast information will be announced on the Stars’ social media pages soon. Fans interested in attending the Southwest Showdown can purchase tickets online at www.TucsonRoadrunners.com or 866-774-6253. Tickets go on sale to the on Aug. 31.
These will be the Stars’ first preseason games since 2019, when the Silver Knights’ predecessor called San Antonio home. That fall, Texas played a home-and-home preseason slate with the San Antonio Rampage on Sept. 26 and Sept. 27, 2019.
