Texas Grabs Overtime Point in Manitoba

Oct 18, 2026

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, earned a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Manitoba Moose to finish a four-game road trip Sunday at Canada Life Centre.

Texas jumped to its earliest lead of the season as Dylan Hryckowian found the back of the net with help from Ellis Rickwood just 18 seconds into the first period, recording his second goal in as many games. Rickwood picked off a Moose clearing attempt in the offensive zone and fed it cross-ice for Hryckowian, who beat Manitoba’s Thomas Milic with a one-timer from the left circle.

With 7:55 left in the opening frame, Manitoba’s Colby Barlow tied the game; He initially shot the puck wide but caught Brandon Halverson off-guard when he immediately retrieved the puck and scored on his own rebound.

The score remained deadlocked until Nikita Chibrikov notched Manitoba’s seventh power-play goal of the season at the 16:27 mark of the middle period. Chibrikov collected the rebound from Gregor’s shot off Halverson’s pad and tucked it home for a 2-1 lead heading into the final period.

Tristan Bertucci reinstated the deadlock with a goal at 3:42 of the third, as he rifled a pass from Kyle Burroughs behind a disoriented Milic to bring the score to 2-2. Less than a minute later, Emil Hemming scored his first North American professional goal to put the Stars up by one.

Just over two minutes after Hemming’s tally, Texas sent Manitoba back on the power play, and Chibrikov collected his second power-play goal of the contest to tie the score for the third time. Neither side was able to secure the win before the end of regulation, and the Stars skated into their third overtime in just six games this season.

Brayden Yager ripped a shot from the right circle, beating Halverson glove-side to seal the victory for the Moose just 1:52 into overtime.

Halverson made 25 saves in the loss, while Milic stopped 30 of 33 for the win.

Texas will return to the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park for a two-game series against the Ontario Reign Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.texasstars.com/tickets.
