CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Monday details surrounding this weekend’s games featuring Star Wars Night on Friday against Charlotte and Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday against Ontario.

The Stars host the Charlotte Checkers on Friday at 7:30 p.m. for Star Wars Night to celebrate the movie-franchise and the release of its seventh installment in December. Costumed characters from the films will be on hand at the game. Fans can bid on specialty Rebel Alliance warmup jerseys worn by the players with the proceeds benefiting the Leander ISD Education Excellence Foundation.

Star Wars-themed elements will be on display throughout the evening with movie clips, graphics, temporary tattoos for kids and specialty food items throughout the concourse. Menu items at the game include 32-ouce Death Star Drafts, Bantha Burgers, Tauntaun Tacos, Hoth Dogs and Cloud City Cotton Candy. Amy’s Ice Cream will be serving specialty flavors including Dune of Tatooine, Java the Hutt, Boba Fett’s Bounty and a Dark Death Star brownie sundae.

Friday’s game also features Fun Food Friday specials, including $3 12 oz. beer, chicken tenders and flatbreads and $4 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine. Fans can also purchase Texas Stars Two Packs and save $12 off a pair of tickets for the game.

When the Stars and Ontario Reign face off on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or other new stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice when the Stars score their first goal. All stuffed animals collected at the Teddy Bear Toss will be donated to Austin Police Operation Blue Santa as part of the Stars’ participation in the Chuy’s Children Giving to Children Parade on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. Fans who bring a stuffed animal to the game for the Teddy Bear Toss will also receive a voucher for one free ticket to the Stars’ Dec. 8 game against the Rockford IceHogs.

Over the last four seasons, the Stars’ Teddy Bear Toss has collected more than 5,000 stuffed animals for Operation Blue Santa, which distributes them to underprivileged children in the Central Texas area.

Also on Saturday, fans can arrive early and enjoy drinks, food and games at the Texas Stars Tailgate presented by Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine from 5-7 p.m. Other game night promotions include Coke Zero Family Four Packs, Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night and a Texas Stars scarf giveaway courtesy of Healthtronics.
