ROCKFORD, Ill. - Despite 39 shots on goal, the Texas Stars ran into a hot goaltender in Collin Delia as he backstopped the Rockford IceHogs to a 2-1 win on Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Rockford's rookie goaltender turned aside 38 shots to corral the Texas offense. Greg Rallo scored the lone goal for the Stars (29-20-5-3) as the IceHogs (28-23-3-3) have taken the first two games of the four-game season series.

Texas returns home Saturday to host the Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. CST.

The IceHogs jumped out to a 1-0 lead with the first period's only goal when Cody Franson struck on the power play with five minutes remaining from the left circle.

Luc Snuggerud made it a 2-0 Rockford lead when his one-time effort in the slot trickled past Mike McKenna 4:18 into the second. With seven minutes to play in the middle frame, Rallo put the Stars on the board with a rebound goal set up by Sheldon Dries for his third of the season.

Delia clamped down in the third to keep the game in control and made 26 of his 38 saves in the final two periods for the win. McKenna stopped 26 of 28 shots in net for Texas in the loss.

Rockford finished 1-for-2 on the power play. Texas was scoreless in their two man-advantage chances.
