Brandon Magee Signs AHL Contract with the Team

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today they have reduced their training camp roster by five players. The Stars’ training camp roster now sits at 30 players.

The following players have been returned to their respective teams or released from their tryout in Texas:

F, Colton Beck
D, Cole Martin
D, Andrew Panzarella
D, Jake Rutt
F, Taylor Stefishen

The Stars also signed rookie forward Brandon Magee (muh-GEE) to a standard AHL contract for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Magee, 21, spent just over five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Victoria Royals and Chilliwack Bruins. In 318 career games, the Edmonton, Alberta native tallied 113 goals and 151 assists for 264 points. The 5-foot-9, 195-pound forward began Texas Stars training camp on a free agent tryout.

Texas hosts the San Antonio Rampage in a final preseason game on Sunday at 3 p.m. and opens the 2015-16 regular season at Cedar Park Center on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. against the Rampage.
