Yearly Highlights

2022-2023

The 2022-23 season marked the full return to normal operations for both the Foundation and the team, with no limitations on our ability to enable interactions between players and fans.

A new partnership with Texas Children’s Hospital aided our Texas Stars Foundation in purchasing 14 sets of Franklin Sports floor hockey gear. We partnered with 14 nonprofits and schools, putting on floor hockey programs with our players and mascot, Ringo. Nets, sticks, and balls were donated after each program allowing the partners to continue teaching floor hockey. Each donation was valued around $500, totaling $7,500 for the 2022-23 season.

More than 7,500 tickets were donated to local nonprofit organizations, military families, and veterans, reaching 125 unique organizations.

The main source of fundraising for the Foundation came from jersey auctions. Specialty jersey auctions this season included: Hispanic Heritage, Hockey Fights Cancer, Fall Military, AMHA Jr Stars, Star Wars, Pink in the Rink, Spring Military, and Texas Exes. The specialty jersey auctions raised $188,000 this season.

The 5050 Raffle saw its largest season of growth, with a record high jackpot of $6,450 and an average of $2,900 across the regular season, netting roughly $50,000 for the Foundation. During the third period of each home game, a winning raffle number is randomly selected, and the winner takes home half of the jackpot that night, while the other half is donated to the Foundation.
