Texas Stars Sign Philippe Desrosiers to Second ATO

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that the club has signed goaltender Philippe Desrosiers to an amateur tryout contract (ATO).

Desrosiers, 18, originally signed an ATO with Texas on April 22nd, but did not appear in any action and was released on May 14th. He recently concluded his third season with Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). During the 2013-14 season, he posted the fourth-lowest goals against average in the QMJHL (2.65), was tied for the sixth-highest save percentage (.907) ranked fifth in overall wins with a 31-14-7 record and was one of only six goalies in the league to post at least five shutouts (5). The native of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec also earned a 7-2-1 record with a 2.34 GAA and a .917 SV% in 11 playoff contests in 2014. Desrosiers was drafted by Dallas in the second round (54th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars are in action tonight at 6:00 p.m. CT for Game 3 of the 2014 Western Conference Finals against the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum.
