FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed defenseman Jamie Oleksiak to a one-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oleksiak, 22, registered eight points (1-7=8), including his first career NHL goal, in 36 games with the Stars during the 2014-15 campaign. The blueliner also shared ninth on the team and ranked fourth among club defensemen with 82 hits this season despite playing just 36 games. Oleksiak also appeared in 35 regular-season contests with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL), recording 16 points (4-12=16) and finished tied for fifth in the League with a +26 plus/minus rating.

The defenseman has earned 10 career NHL points (1-9=10) in 59 regular-season NHL contests all with Dallas. Oleksiak has appeared in 163 career AHL games over three seasons, all with Texas, and has tallied 72 points (15-57=72) and a +53 rating.

"Jamie is a young player with great potential who is evolving into a solid all-around defenseman," said Nill. "We look forward to him being an important member of our defense moving forward."

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (14th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars will begin their seventh season at Cedar Park Center on Saturday, Oct. 10.  Full season, 24-game and 12-game ticket packages for the 2015-16 campaign are on sale now.  For more information, call (512) GO-STARS (467-8277) or visit TexasStarsHockey.com.
