Dallas Stars Reassign John Klingberg to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned defenseman John Klingberg to Texas.

Klingberg, 21, registered 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) and 12 penalty minutes in 50 games with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) during the 2013-14 regular season, finishing first among the team’s defensemen in points.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman previously skated in one AHL contest with Texas during the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs. The native of Gothenburg, Sweden was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (131st overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars will face the Lake Erie Monsters tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center for Mike Modano night, which includes a pre-game ceremony and Signature Edition Rally Towel giveaway.
