Texas Starts Three-Game Road Trip This Friday

Stars Face Oklahoma City on Friday

Cedar Park, TX – The Texas Stars concluded a seven-game home stand last week, starting on Tuesday night with a 5-2 defeat at home to Grand Rapids. Friday and Saturday night, Texas was edged 4-3 by Oklahoma City at Cedar Park Center. Monday, Abbotsford picked up a 5-2 win over Texas. The Stars will embark on a three-game road trip starting Friday in Oklahoma City.

This Week’s Games
Texas faces off against the Oklahoma City Barons on Friday, March 23rd at 7:00 p.m. The Stars then travel to Toronto on Sunday, March 25th for a 3:00 p.m. faceoff against the Marlies. The three-game road trip concludes with a 6:00 p.m. matchup against the Lake Erie Monsters on Tuesday, March 27th. Texas returns home on Thursday, March 29th for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff with Hamilton.

Game Recaps
Grand Rapids 5 at Texas 2 3/13/12
The Texas Stars were defeated by the Grand Rapids Griffins 5-2 in front of 5,361 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Tuesday. Left wing Fabian Brunnstrom and ccenter Chris Conner each registered two goals, as the Griffins took their first victory over the Stars this season. Goalie Ty Conklin took care of the rest, finishing with 38 saves. Defenseman Brenden Dillon and left wing Matt Fraser each scored for the Stars. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany made 22 saves.

Oklahoma City 4 at Texas 3 3/16/12
The Texas Stars were defeated by the Oklahoma City Barons 4-3 in front of 4,734 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Friday night. Right wing Mark Arcobello put up the game-winning goal for the Barons with 5:05 to go in regulation. Barons’ defenseman Bryan Helmer put up a goal and an assist, while center Tyler Pitlick provided two assists. Right wing Ryan Keller and defenseman Taylor Chorney also scored in the Barons’ 21st road win of the year. Oklahoma City goalie Yann Danis finished with 23 saves. Texas defenseman Brenden Dillon registered a goal and an assist, while center Travis Morin added two assists on the night. Forwards Matt Fraser and Mike Hedden also scored for the Stars. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany stopped 32 of 36 shots. 

Oklahoma City 4 at Texas 3 3/17/12
The Texas Stars were defeated by the Oklahoma City Barons 4-3 in front 5,767 fans at the Cedar Park Center on Saturday night. Forwards Tanner House, Philippe Cornet and left wing Hunter Tremblay, each scored in the opening frame to lead the Barons to victory. Right wing Colton Sceviour and left wing Francis Wathier each added a goal and an assist in the Stars defeat. Texas center Travis Morin netted two assists. Left wing Shawn Weller also scored for the Stars. Texas goalie Andrew Raycroft stopped 24 shots in the loss. 

Abbotsford 5 at Texas 2 3/19/12
The Texas Stars were defeated by the Abbotsford Heat 5-2 at the Cedar Park Center on Monday night. Left wing Ryan Howse registered two goals for Abbotsford, including the game-winner at 5:04 of the second period. Stars right wing Colton Sceviour put up both goals for the home team. Texas goalie Tyler Beskorowany stopped 26 shots in the loss.
