CEDAR PARK, Texas - The power play woes continued for the Texas Stars as they came up short in a 3-1 loss to the rival San Antonio Rampage on Sunday evening at AT&T Center.

Texas (3-3-0-1) went 0-for-6 on the power play and are now 3-for-23 (13.0%) to start the season on the man-advantage. Spencer Martin corralled the Texas offense with a 29-save performance for the Rampage (5-1-0-0). Dillon Heatherington was the lone Texas goal-scorer as the Stars are winless in their last four games.

Texas hosts San Diego on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CST.

The Stars controlled play early opening up an 8-0 advantage in shots through the first 10 minutes, but a tripping minor to Heatherington set the stage for a power play goal by Jordan Schmaltz to make it 1-0, Rampage.

San Antonio extended their lead midway through period two when Klim Kostin buried his first career goal on a 2-on-1 rush from the left circle, but Heatherington responded for the Stars with four minutes remaining on a shot from the point that deflected past Martin.

In the third, Adam Musil scored an empty-net goal late for the first of his career to seal the San Antonio win.

Mike McKenna suffered the loss stopping 12 of 14 in net for the Stars.

San Antonio was 1-for-5 on the power play.
