ROCKFORD, Ill. - Playing their third game in four nights, and closing out their seven-game road trip, the Texas Stars saw their five-game winning streak come to a close in a 6-2 loss to the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Despite the loss, the Stars finished their season-long road trip going 5-2-0-0. Roope Hintz scored for the second straight night for Texas. Former IceHog Mark McNeill also scored against his old team, and Landon Bow suffered his second loss in his last 10 games.

The Stars (13-9-0-1) host the Iowa Wild on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. CST.

Hintz got the scoring started for Texas late in the first on a power-play goal for his eighth of season, beating Rockford's Jeff Glass on a wrist shot from the slot with 1:38 to play from Matt Mangene's assist.

Rockford (13-9-1-0) took control of the game in period two with three unanswered goals. Anthony Louis got things started on a power-play strike from the right circle at 8:01. Matthew Highmore slipped a wrist shot past Bow two minutes later to give the IceHogs the lead before William Pelletier blasted a one-time shot from the slot late in the second for his second of the year.

The IceHogs kept the pressure on in the third as Darren Raddysh scored early to make it a 4-1 score. Luc Snuggerud scored at 11:38 for the Hogs before McNeill struck on a crossnig pass from Travis Morin three minutes later.

Tomas Jurco added an empty-net goal for Rockford in the final minute.

Texas scored on the power play for the fifth straight game, going 1-for-4. Rockford went 1-for-6.
