CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars offense struck for three goals in less than a minute midway through the second period to turn a one-goal deficit into a 5-2 win over the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday night in front of 6,110 fans at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

Brent Regner, Sheldon Dries and Andrew O'Brien all scored 56 seconds apart to give the Stars a 3-1 lead in the middle frame. Mike McKenna took care of the rest with a 35-save performance in net for his 13th win of the season, and the Stars (29-19-5-2) swept their two-game set against Milwaukee (26-24-4-1) to pull closer to second place San Diego in the Pacific Division.

Texas visits the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday at 11 a.m. CST.

After Trevor Smith gave the Admirals the lead a minute into the game, the Stars responded nine minutes into second on a chaotic sequence to take control. Regner drilled a shot past Milwaukee's Anders Lindback at 8:59 from the top of the slot for his fifth of the season. Fourteen seconds later, Dries banged home Gavin Bayreuther's centering pass from the corner for his 12th of the season and then O'Brien burned his former team at 9:55 by lifting a backhand shot in tight over the Milwaukee netminder for his first goal as a Stars.

Three minutes later, Travis Morin made it a 4-1 lead for Texas with a rebound goal from Brian Flynn's shot.

Justin Dowling added another goal for Texas four minutes into the third after tapping home his out rebound from a deflection in front. Justin Kirkland scored late for Milwaukee.

Lindback was 25 of 30 in the loss for Milwaukee. Both teams went 0-for-2 on the power play.
