Texas Stars Return Taylor Vause to Idaho Steelheads

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that center Taylor Vause has been returned on loan to the Idaho Steelheads, the club’s ECHL affiliate.

Vause, 23, has appeared in 12 games for Texas this season, recording two points (1 goal, 1 assist) and two penalty minutes. The Calgary, Alberta native has not played since January 18th at Charlotte and has missed the team’s last 18 games due to a lower body injury. Vause has played in 17 ECHL games for Idaho this season, scoring nine points (6 goals, 3 assists) and recording eight penalty minutes. The second year forward has played in 72 career AHL games, all with the Stars, and has 21 points (6 goals, 15 assists) and eight penalty minutes. Vause attended Texas’ training camp on a tryout and made the Stars’ opening night roster after signing a PTO on October 2nd. He skated in the first two games of the 2013-14 season and then signed an AHL contract with Texas on October 10th.

The Western Conference-leading Texas Stars will complete their a five-game road trip tonight as they again battle the Abbotsford Heat for a 9:00 p.m. CT face off at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre. Texas will return to Cedar Park Center Saturday, March 8th to face the Charlotte Checkers with a 7:00 p.m. face off. Saturday’s game is a Coke Zero Family Four Pack Night and a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night, as well as a Stars Team Poster giveaway and there will be a post-game autograph session.
