Texas Stars Announce 2016-17 Promotional Schedule

New Giveaways and Theme Nights Highlight the Upcoming Season

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Thursday their promotions and giveaway schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 campaign.

Opening Night is set for Friday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and the weekend continues Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. with the Stars hosting the Charlotte Checkers both nights. Magnetic schedules, presented by ABC Home & Commercial Services, will be handed out on both nights to fans that arrive early.

Brand new giveaway items this season include a Stars glow-in-the-dark t-shirt on Oct. 29 against the Ontario Reign, a Stars traveling tumbler on Feb. 4 against the San Antonio Rampage from The Smile Generation and Stars sunglasses on March 4 against the Grand Rapids Griffins. A new twist on returning favorites include a Stars fleece blanket with a holiday sweater theme on Dec. 10, courtesy of Thrivent Financial, and a Stars infinity scarf giveaway on Feb. 18 for Pink in the Rink weekend, courtesy of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.

Fans can also collect other returning giveaway favorites featuring the team’s logos and color scheme, including a Stars rally towel from Re-Bath of Austin on Nov. 12, a re-useable Stars tote bag from HealthTronics on Nov. 26, a Stars knit cap on Dec. 17, a Stars team calendar on New Year’s Eve from Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Stars youth jerseys on Feb. 11 from H-E-B and more.

This season’s promotion schedule features new and returning theme nights. On Oct. 28, the Stars will hold Heroes and Villains Night against Ontario to celebrate classic comic book characters. Dec. 10 will be Faith and Family Night, presented by Thrivent Financial. On Jan. 6, Star Wars Night returns to H-E-B Center with members of the 501st Legion on hand and specialty warm-up jerseys that fans can bid on through a silent auction to benefit the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation. The Stars will also feature 80’s Night on Jan. 27, and the team will close the season on April 15 with its annual Fan Appreciation Night celebration.

To honor our nation’s military, the Stars will host a pair of Military Appreciation Weekends on Nov. 11 and 12 against the San Jose Barracuda and March 24 and 25 against the Stockton Heat. Re-Bath of Austin will present the Nov. 12 game with a Stars Rally Towel giveaway, and Round Rock Toyota, Honda and Hyundai will present the March weekend with a Stars Camo Hat giveaway on March 25th. Round Rock Toyota, Honda and Hyundai will also present the specialty jerseys worn by the players on both weekends that can be bid on through a silent auction to benefit the Texas Stars Foundation.

Pink in the Rink Weekend, presented by Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, is Feb. 17 and 18 against the Chicago Wolves. The Stars will wear specialty pink-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off, and a Stars Infinity Scarf will be given away prior to the February 18th matchup.

Other returning specialty games include Teddy Bear Toss Night (Dec. 16), H-E-B Food Drive Night (Dec. 21), Postgame Autograph Night (Jan. 28) and Pucks ‘n Paws Night presented by Raising Cane’s (March 11).

Fans can take advantage of the Stars’ popular weekly specials again this season. Fans can save $12 dollars off a pair of tickets to every Friday home game with a Texas Stars Two-Pack, and Hat Trick Fridays will feature $3 specials on domestic draft beer and soda, plus $4 specials on Robert Mondavi Private Selection wine. Coke Zero Family Four-Packs are back this season for Saturday home games. Fans can enjoy four tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks and parking for as low as $16 per person. Saturday games also feature Texas Lottery Lucky Row Nights where the first Stars player to score wins free scratch-off tickets for a lucky row of seats at H-E-B Center.

Winning Wednesdays return for the first five Wednesday home games of the season and H-E-B Nights are back for all Monday-Thursday contests. If the Stars win on a Winning Wednesday, fans in attendance receive a free ticket to the team’s following Wednesday game, and fans that donate any non-perishable, H-E-B-branded item at the box office receive a $5 discount their ticket purchase for any Monday-Thursday contest.

In total, Stars fans can take advantage of a variety of promotions and giveaways this season with four weekend event specials, four specialty jersey auctions, seven theme nights and 16 giveaway nights. There are five Winning Wednesdays, 11 H-E-B Nights, 11 Hat Trick Fridays, plus 16 Coke Zero Family Four-Pack and Texas Lottery Lucky Row nights.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, and will begin their eighth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in October.
