Stars to Face Heat in Weekend Set of Games

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Thursday the details of their Military Appreciation Weekend, presented by Round Rock Honda, Toyota and Hyundai, this Friday and Saturday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

As part of the organization’s ongoing support of the current and former members of our armed forces, the Stars have teamed up with their fans and corporate partners to purchase nearly 2,000 tickets for the games this Friday and Saturday against the Stockton Heat.  That group includes:

ABC Home and Commercial Services
Action Propane
Paul Becker
Bloom and Leaf Florist
DFD Architects
Russ Hall
Scott Lehman
Mitzi Logan
Ray Provencio
Rhino Staging
Ann Rohner
Samsung
Texas Lottery
Warrior Media Solutions
James and Tina Wood

The tickets purchased will be given to local service members, veterans and their families to show appreciation for all the sacrifices these brave men and women have made for our country. The Texas Lottery will also be issuing a limited number of gift bags each night to military guests that include a scratch ticket, a Texas Lottery hat, t-shirt, small tumbler and key chain.

The Stars’ players will wear special camouflage jerseys for the weekend and will auction off the game-worn jerseys to benefit the Texas Stars Foundation. The silent auction runs from the beginning of Friday’s game through the end of the second intermission on Saturday night. At the conclusion of Saturday’s game, the winner of each jersey auction will receive their newly purchased game-worn jersey off the players’ back and autographed. Fans can also purchase military-themed autographed Mystery Pucks as well as Texas Stars Challenge Coins for a $20 donation at the Foundation table during both games.

The festivities begin Friday as the Stars welcome the Stockton Heat for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at H-E-B Center on a Hat Trick Friday featuring $3 beer and soda, plus $4 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine. Fans can also purchase a Texas Stars Two-Pack to the game and save on a pair of tickets. In addition to the regular Military Appreciation festivities, two military Humvees will also be displayed outside of the H-E-B Center box office on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday night features a Stars camouflage hat giveaway, courtesy of Round Rock Honda, Toyota and Hyundai, as the Stars and Heat face off again at 7 p.m. Saturday’s game is also a Coke Zero Family Four Pack Night and a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night. Fans can purchase four tickets, hot dogs and soft drinks starting at $16 per person, and can watch for their chance to win scratch tickets from the Texas Lottery when the first Stars player scores a goal.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, and are currently playing their eighth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Full season, 24-game, 12-game and six-game ticket packages for the 2016-17 campaign are on sale now.  For more information, call (512) GO-STARS (467-8277) or visit TexasStars.com.
