McKenzie Reassigned to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today forward Curtis McKenzie has been reassigned to the team from Dallas.

McKenzie, 23, posted a goal and an assist in Texas' season-opening win last night against Iowa.  In 2013-14, he won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award, given to the AHL's most outstanding rookie, and was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team leading all AHL rookies with 65 points (27 goals, 38 assists) in 75 games played.  He added 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 21 postseason contests helping Texas win their first Calder Cup.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of Golden, British Columbia was selected by Dallas in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars visit the Oklahoma City Barons on Friday, then return home for a Saturday night contest against the Utica Comets.
