Jamie Oleksiak Voted to AHL All-Star Game Starting Lineup

Texas Stars Rookie Defenseman Attending 2013 AHL All-Star Classic

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that rookie defenseman Jamie Oleksiak has been selected to the starting lineup of the Western Conference for the 2013 AHL All-Star Classic as voted by AHL fans.
 
Oleksiak, 20, has 23 points (3 goals, 20 assists) in 42 AHL games for Texas this season. The Toronto, Ontario native currently leads the Stars and ranks third amongst AHL rookies in assists, he ranks second on the team in plus-minus (+11) and he is tied for 10th amongst all AHL defensemen in points. Oleksiak (6-7, 255 lbs.) was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round (14th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He will represent the Texas Stars, along with left wing Matt Fraster, at the 2013 Dunkin’ Donuts AHL All-Star Classic this Sunday and Monday in Providence, Rhode Island.

 Of the 597 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since the event was reinstated in 1995, nearly 93 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Daniel Briere, Dustin Brown, Ryan Callahan, Mike Cammalleri, Zdeno Chara, Miikka Kiprusoff, Ryan Miller, Zach Parise, Tuukka Rask, Pekka Rinne, Bobby Ryan, Martin St. Louis, Cory Schneider, Jason Spezza and Eric Staal.
