Esa Lindell Reassigned to Finland by Dallas

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today defenseman Esa Lindell has been reassigned to compete for his native Finland in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Championships.

Lindell (EH-suh lihn-DEHL), 20, appeared in five games for Texas and tallied his first career AHL point with an assist on March 24 in the team’s 4-3 win over the Iowa Wild.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Vantaa, Finland was a third-round pick of the Dallas Stars (74th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The Stars wrap up their Military Appreciation Weekend tonight against the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 p.m.
