Dallas Stars Recall Defenseman Gavin Bayreuther

thumb20181114_bayreuther.pngFRISCO, Texas – Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Gavin Bayreuther from the Texas Stars. It is Bayreuther’s first career call up to the NHL as he joins Joel Hanley on the Dallas roster. The Texas Stars have now seen six players earn promotions to Dallas this season.

Bayreuther, 24, has recorded five points (2-3=5) in seven AHL games with Texas so far in 2018-19. The defenseman is tied for second on the club with a +3 plus/minus rating this season, while he ranks second among team defensemen with two goals.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Canaan, New Hampshire was originally signed by the Stars as an undrafted free agent on March 15, 2017. Bayreuther has amassed 42 points (11-31=42) in 93 career AHL contests, all with Texas, while he has also registered eight points (3-5=8) in 22 career Calder Cup Playoff games.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, face Rockford on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
