Dallas Stars Assign Radek Faksa to Texas

Stars 2012 First Round Draft Pick Heads to Cedar Park
 
CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned forward Radek Faksa (pronounced RA-dehk FAWK-sah) to Texas from the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL.
 
Faksa, 19, recently completed his second season of major junior hockey with Kitchener of the Ontario Hockey League where he recorded 31 points (9 goals, 22 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 39 games. The Vitkov, Czech Republic also appeared in 10 playoff games for the Rangers, scoring six points (4 goals, 2 assists) and 4 penalty minutes before being eliminated in the second round of the OHL playoffs by the London Knights in five games. The six-foot-three, 200-pound center was selected by Dallas in the first round (13th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry level contract with the Stars on July 6, 2012. Faksa has represented the Czech Republic at the IIHF Under-18 World Championship in 2011 in Germany and at the IIHF Under-20 World Championships in 2012 in Alberta, Canada and in 2013 in Ufa, Russia.
 
The Texas Stars will complete their five-game road trip tonight as they once again travel to San Antonio for a 7:00 p.m. showdown with the Rampage at AT&T Center. The Stars’ next home game is on Friday, April 19th against the Houston Aeros at 7:30 p.m.  Friday’s game at Cedar Park Center is a $3 Beer Night and another Texas Lottery Lucky Section Night, where fans can win scratch off tickets from the Texas Lottery when the first Stars player scores a goal.
