Dallas Recalls Hintz & McKenna, Texas Recalls Desrosiers

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled forward Roope Hintz and goaltender Mike McKenna from the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hintz, 21, ranks fourth on Texas with 15 goals and is tied for fifth on the team with 27 points (15-12=27) in 55 AHL games this season. Hintz also ranks third on the team with five power play goals and is tied for fourth with two game-winning goals in 2017-18.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound native of Tampere, Finland was originally selected by Dallas in the second round (49th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.

McKenna, 34, has posted a 14-9-4 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average with one shutout in 29 appearances with Texas during the 2017-18 season.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of St. Louis, Mo. was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2017. McKenna was originally selected by Nashville in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars also recalled Phil Desrosiers from the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.

Desrosiers, 22, is 23-9-3 with Idaho this season with a 2.51 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound netminder made his season debut and stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 5-1 win over the San Antonio Rampage on Ferbuary 3rd.

Desrosiers (deh-ROH-see-ay) was a second-round pick of Dallas in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
