Dallas Recalls Oleksiak & Sneep From Texas

Defensemen Head to NHL to Bolster Stars’ Lineup
 
CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled defensemen Jamie Oleksiak and Carl Sneep from Texas. Dallas also placed defensemen Trevor Daley and Aaron Rome on injured reserve.
 
Oleksiak, 20, ranks fifth among all AHL defensemen in scoring (third on Texas) with 29 points (6 goals, 23 assists), and is sixth in the league with a plus-20 rating in 48 games this season. On Feb. 1, the 6-foot-7 defenseman made his NHL debut against the Phoenix Coyotes, and has posted one assist and three shots in six games for Dallas this season. Oleksiak has six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in five games since being assigned to Texas on Feb. 14. He was Dallas’ first-round selection (14th overall) in 2011.
 
Sneep, 25, has split time between the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers and the AHL's Texas Stars this season. In 13 games with Texas, he has 3 points (1G-2A), six penalty minutes, and a plus-5 rating. He skated in his only NHL game on Dec. 17, 2011 against the Buffalo Sabres where he earned an assist and plus-1 rating in the contest. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Brainerd, Minn. was Pittsburgh's second-round selection (32nd overall) in 2002. He was acquired by Dallas in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in this year's draft on Jan. 24, 2013.

The Texas Stars will complete their eight-day, four-game road trip on Tuesday, February 26th against the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:00 p.m. at Cox Convention Center.
