Dallas Reassigns Oleksiak and Ritchie to Texas

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today forward Brett Ritchie and defenseman Jamie Oleksiak have been reassigned to the team from Dallas.

Oleksiak, 22, has registered eight points (one goal, seven assists), eight penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 32 games for Dallas this season.  He has skated in six games with Texas this season, posting four assists and a +4 plus/minus rating.

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was selected by Dallas in the first round (14th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Ritchie, 21, scored his first career NHL goal in his first career NHL game on his first shot on Dec. 31, 2014 vs. the Arizona Coyotes.  He has posted four points (three goals, one assist) and a +8 plus/minus rating in eight NHL games this season.  Prior to being recalled by Dallas, Ritchie, posted 18 points (11 goals, seven assists) in 22 games for Texas.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Orangeville, Ontario was selected by Dallas in the second round (44th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars close out their five-game homestand on Tuesday against San Antonio at 7:30 p.m.
